How Do I Buy An Original Painting?
Original artwork, when available, is offered to the Studio Insiders subscribers first. To join the list, go here.
What Is The Print Quality & Detail?
Fine art giclée prints of my original watercolor paintings are made to order by our print shop using premium, archival quality, 100% cotton fiber watercolor paper and archival certified light-fast inks. These prints turn out beautifully, and are often mistaken for the original painting. If treated properly, your print should last a lifetime.
The edges are straight cut, and the artwork is borderless. I offer a variety of standard sizes. Some of the ratios are cropped and may look different from the listing photos. Each size is carefully cropped to look the best in the ratio in which it is offered.
What Exactly Is a Giclée Print?
Giclée (pronounced Gee’clay) prints are made on a specialized printer that is much larger and more detailed than a standard desktop printer. Special light-fast archival certified inks are used. Giclée is the best way to produce archival reproductions of fine art. Though giclée prints can be produced on any paper you choose, we use only premium, archival quality, 100% cotton fiber watercolor paper for our prints.
Can I Commission a Painting?
Availability for commissioned paintings is opened up to my email subscribers first. To be notified when I have openings for commissioned paintings, please join the waitlist here.
Do You Offer Framing?
To protect your investment, I highly recommend matting your original watercolor or fine art giclée print with a conservation quality mat and framing it under glass. Your local frame shop can assist you with this. I do not currently offer framing.
Who Owns the Copyright?
I retain all rights to all artwork created by me. This includes the rights to the image of sold and commissioned original paintings. I further retain the right to make reproductions of any and all artwork I create. The collector or buyer may not reproduce the artwork in any way without written permission from me. If the artwork ends up being reproduced in a magazine or other media, I only ask for credit. Rights to all images of artwork, sold or otherwise, are retained by Claire Hamilton.
